WHY HER: After two seasons on Saturday Night Live, Wiig, 33, has emerged as a standout thanks to characters like the eccentric Target clerk and oddly competitive Penelope.

RIGHT ON TARGET ”I wish it was an exciting story, but I was at Target with my friend and I asked the clerk directions or something. Empire was the street, but she said it sort of like ‘Empiiiiiirrrrr.’ I just remember looking at her and wheels started turning in my head.”

NEXT Her third season of SNL starts this fall. Plus, she’ll costar with Will Arnett and Will Forte in The Brothers Solomon (September) and play John C. Reilly’s wife in Walk Hard (December).

SECRET AMBITION ”I would like to have a gourmet chocolate shop. I’ve gotten into really good-quality chocolate.”
