Today, nominations for the 25th annual IFP Gotham Independent Film Awards were unveiled. Fantastic news for us Wiig-fans – Kristen received a well-deserved Best Actress-nomination for her phenomenal work in Welcome to Me! She’s nominated alongside other buzzed-about performances from Cate Blanchett, Brie Larson, Blythe Danner, Bel Powley and Lily Tomlin. Not only that, but The Diary of a Teenage Girl (also starring Wiig in a key supporting role) received the most awards of all films; Best Feature, Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award for Marielle Heller, Best Screenplay for Marielle Heller and Best Actress for Bel Powley! The winners will be announced on November 30 at Cipriani Wall Street. Big congratulations to Kristen Wiig and the teams behind both Welcome to Me and The Diary of a Teenage Girl.
