Great news! Bridesmaids has been named “Favourite Comedy Movie” at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards last night. Unfortunately Kristen Wiig wasn’t able to attend due to her doing Saturday Night Live-work this week, but Judd Apatow and Maya Rudolph were among the individuals on hand to accept the prize.”Thank you very much, thank you, Betty White!” Apatow said on taking the stage. “Thank you, Betty White,” Rudolph echoed.

“We especially want to thank Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo,” Apatow continued. “I’d like to say something inspiring. If I can just quote somebody.” Apatow then started to read the lyrics to the Wilson Phillips track ‘Hold On’ – which features in Bridesmaids – with Maya Rudoplh following him, and then the rest of the cast started singing along as well.
