New details on Kristen’s ‘Anchorman 2′ character

As previously mentioned, production on Anchorman: The Legend Continues is scheduled to start next week in Atlanta. Director Adam McKay recently dropped a few tidbits of information regarding the film’s story, revealing that the plot involves the newsteam angling for glory in New York City and talking a bit about Kristen Wiig’s character. Here’s what he said:

“Brick’s so far gone that you can’t have a relationship with him,” [McKay] laughed, admitting that Kristen Wiig’s character will be tempting him to do just that. “It takes a special someone to get a rope snare around his heart. She is dangerous!”

So excited for this movie! If pictures from the set find their way online we will post them. Watch this space for that! Also, thanks to Collider.com for the article.

2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party – Photo booth pictures

As most of you might know, the 85th Annual Academy Awards are taking place tonight in Hollywood. Unfortunately, Kristen Wiig isn’t scheduled to be part of the event, however there is still a chance that she’ll attend the famous Vanity Fair Oscar Party after the ceremony. Last year she attended both events, as well as posed with friends Maya Rudolph and Emma Stone (make a movie together, already!) in the Vanity Fair Photo booth. I have – insert finally – added the photos, along with a new one released just a couple of days ago, to our photo gallery. Edit: Unfortunately, Kristen didn’t attend any Oscars-related events.

Photos from 2008 public appearances

The gallery updates continue today with new additions from public appearances Kristen Wiig made in 2008. That year she promoted Pretty Bird at the Sundance Film Festival, Saturday Night Live at various press tours and Ghost Town at the Toronto International Film Festival. Over 100 pictures from those events and many more – both old and new (to the gallery) ones – have been added to our photo gallery.

While plot details have been kept largely under wraps, he’s rumored to play a rival anchor and nemesis to Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy in the sequel. The movie is set to start filming next month in Atlanta. Adam McKay is directing the December 20, 2013 release with much of the original Anchorman cast reprising their roles, including Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate. Vulture then reported that she will play a younger version of Jessica Walter’s boozy matriarch Lucille Bluth. The much-anticipated return of the modern cult classic show will be available on Netflix this May. So many great projects for Wiig, how excited are you for this addition to the show?
