Last night, Kristen Wiig surprised us by attending the annual Costume Institute Benefit Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Despite not being mentioned as an attendee beforehand, Kristen was the guest of Prabal Gurung, and walked the red carpet alongside the designer. This year’s theme was “China: Through The Looking Glass”, and Wiig looked stunning in a summer-y yellow dress. The first pictures from the event have been added to our photo gallery.
On Wednesday night, Kristen Wiig attended the New York premiere of Welcome to Me. She was accompanied by some of the cast, as well as the director Shira Piven, at the event. Almost 100 pictures have been added to our photo gallery, simply click on the previews to see them all there. By the way, does Kristen look beautiful or what?
On April 28, Kristen Wiig attended a special Q&A for her latest film Welcome to Me, hosted by TimesTalks. Watch the full interview on the official website to hear Kristen and director Shira Piven talk about their careers in acting, writing and directing, as well their new film, Welcome to Me, a dark comedy about a deeply complex, mentally unbalanced woman who wins the lottery, quits her medication and buys her own talk show. It’s such an interesting talk, so you should really watch and listen to the clip. See pictures from the event in our photo gallery as well.
Yesterday, Kristen Wiig attended the 30th Annual Independent Spirit Awards, celebrating the independent films of the past year (sort of like the indie Oscars). She looked fantastic yet again in a black Yigal Azrouël dress as she walked the red carpet, and presented the Best First Screenplay Award alongside Masterminds co-star Zach Galifianakis. Pictures have been added to our photo gallery, with thanks to my friend Luciana for many of them.
Last night, Kristen Wiig took part in the celebration of Saturday Night Live‘s 40th Anniversary. She walked the red carpet before the show, looking fantastic in a black dress, as she was pictured with good friend (and frequent co-star) Maya Rudolph. Pictures from the special red carpet have been added to our photo gallery, with photos and clips from the show itself coming soon.
Last Sunday, Kristen Wiig made a surprise appearance at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, doing a stunning performance to Sia’s “Chandelier” with Maddie Ziegler. To say that we’re impressed and in complete awe of the dance is a severe understatement, to say the least. If you haven’t already seen the performance, you should really check it out in our video archive right away. Screen captures and stills from the show have been added to the photo gallery, as well. A week later and I still can’t get my around what a fantastic all-around performer Kristen Wiig truly is.
The first set of presenters for the 30th Annual Independent Spirit Awards has been revealed. Taking the stage are Kristen Wiig, Oprah, Zach Galifianakis, Ethan Hawke, Jared Leto, with many more yet to be announced. Fred Armisen (of Saturday Night Live) and Kristen Bell will be hosting the festivities, which will be held at a daytime luncheon on the beach in Santa Monica. The 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards air live on IFC on Saturday, Feb. 21. KristenWiig.org will, of course, be updating with pictures and video coverage from the event, as per usual.
Kristen Wiig attended the world premiere of Sebastian Silva’s Nasty Baby at the Sundance Film Festival. She was there with the main cast of the drama, centering about a gay couple who are trying to have a baby with the help of their best friend, Polly (played by Kristen). Pictures from the premiere as well as some cool shots of Wiig at the Columbia at the Village at the Lift-party have been added, with many thanks to my friend Luciana for the Sundance-pictures.
