‘Friends with Kids’ released on Blu-ray and DVD

Kristen Wiig’s latest movie, Friends with Kids, was released on Blu-ray and DVD yesterday. The romantic comedy also has Maya Rudolph and Jon Hamm starring alongside Jennifer Westfeldt and Adam Scott in a daring and hilarious ensemble comedy about a close-knit circle of friends whose lives change once they have kids. The last two singles in the group (Westfeldt and Scott) observe the effect that kids have had on their friends’ relationships and wonder if there’s a better way to make it work. Jennifer Westfeldt – the star, writer, director and producer of Friends with Kids – is interviewed by co-star Adam Scott in the latest issue of Blackbook magazine. She talks about the movie and how Kristen Wiig had a crazy work schedule doing this movie, Saturday Night Live and finishing Bridesmaids at the same time. AS: Yeah, she was actually doing SNL at the same time.
JW: And she had to go to L.A. a few times to look at cuts for Bridesmaids. It was a crazy time for her. I remember looking at the schedule and thinking, Well, Chris needs to be back here, and Maya’s pregnant. It was tough to get the people we wanted all together at one time.

‘Friends with Kids’ Box Office Report

According to Entertainment Weekly, the R-rated ensemble comedy Friends With Kids, starring Adam Scott, Jennifer Westfeldt, Megan Fox, and a quarter of Bridesmaids alums (Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jon Hamm, and Chris O’Dowd), had a so-so limited release-debut with $2.2 million from 374 theaters. That equates to a per-location average of $5,799. Hopefully a positive word-of-mouth will get more people to see it in the coming days/weeks. You should too!

‘Friends with Kids’ Released in Cinemas Today!

Just as the title says, Friends with Kids is released in cinemas across the US today! The movie stars Adam Scott, Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Chris O’Dowd, Megan Fox and Edward Burns, and was written and directed by Jennifer Westfeldt. It’s been getting positive reviews from critics, with a 62% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.com, and all of them giving Kristen’s performance two thumbs up (though complaining over the fact that she, along with Jon Hamm, is underused).
