The show, premiering on TV in the late summer of 2013, is based on the popular web-series of people getting drunk and retelling historical events as actors act out the story.

Kristen Wiig as Patty Hearst
Kristen Wiig portrays the kidnapped heiress–turned–bank robber Patty Hearst, whilst comedian Natasha Leggero gets liquored up and narrates her true life story. The duo appears in the episode 1×05 “San Francisco”.

Production Notes

“Kristen played it in a way that will bring light to such a dark story,” says Drunk History co-creator and host Derek Waters, adding: “When Natasha came to set, she didn’t know what was going on. We got the pretty identical set to what the SLA [the Symbionese Liberation Army, which kidnapped Hearst in 1974] had in San Francisco and she just sees Kristen Wiig talking to herself using Natasha’s drunk voice in a corner. It’s got to be the weirdest thing for them.”
