Kristen joins Zach Galifianakis & Owen Wilson comedy

Posted on May 17, 2014 and filed under Masterminds

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kristen Wiig has signed on to star opposite Zach Galifianakis and Owen Wilson in Relativity’s untitled armored car project. The company has set an August 14, 2015 release for the comedy, which will be directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite). The project, formerly known as Loomis Fargo, is based on the true story of four dim-witted Southerners who pulled off one of the biggest heists in American history, robbing almost $20 million from a Loomis Fargo armored truck. Wiig will play the workplace crush of Galifianakis, an unhappy armored car driver. Using her feminine wiles, she gets him to join her and her accomplices in their plan to rob a bank vault, but has no plans to link up with him once the deed is done. Production will begin July in North Carolina. The movie sounds like a lot of fun, and even though Kristen’s fantastic in the more dramatic roles she’s done lately, I love her comedic side too. What do you think of the new project?
