Kristen Wiig confirmed for ‘Welcome to Me’

Posted on May 22, 2013 and filed under Welcome to Me

According to multiple sources, Kristen Wiig has officially signed on to star in the upcoming Welcome to Me that we reported about about two months ago.Cargo International has picked up international rights for the film which it is currently selling at the Cannes Film Festival. The dramatic comedy is produced by BRON Studios, Gary Sanchez Productions and Kristen Wiig is also a producer. Directing is Shira Piven from a screenplay by Eliot Laurence. The film will begin production in California this summer. Welcome to Me tells the story of Alice who suffers from dissociative personality disorder and wins the lottery only to decide to spend her money on a cable access talk show about herself. The show reflects her larger-than-life personality and absolute obsession with wanting to be famous, even if it means alienating her friends and family in the process. This sounds like a project made for Kristen Wiig, don’t you think?
