Posted on August 29, 2015 with 0 Comments

A new trailer for Ridley Scott’s The Martian has been released – and does it look good or what?! Starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jeff Daniels, Sebastian Stan, Kate Mara and many more, the film tells the story of Astronaut Mark Watney, presumed dead after a fierce storm during a manned mission to Mars, and left behind by his crew. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

Watch the new trailer and the first TV spot in our video archive, check out HD screen captures and a new poster in our photo gallery. The Martian premieres next month at the Toronto International Film Festival, and lands in theaters on October 2.

Today is a very special day – it’s the 42nd birthday of our favorite Kristen Wiig! What a year it’s been for our girl – so many fantastic projects have been released, and we have had the pleasure of seeing so many different sides of her talent. From the fantastic dramatic performances in Welcome to Me, The Skeleton Twins and The Diary of a Teenage Girl, to the more comedic ones in The Spoils Before Dying, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp and A Deadly Adoption. Kristen’s gift as an actress, writer, producer and soon-to-be director knows no limits. And we have a great year ahead of us, with many high-profile releases to come.

To celebrate this day, some of her fans have made a heart-warming video tribute. Be sure to watch the clip below, and leave your birthday-wishes in the comments-section. Once again – happy birthday, Kristen!

‘Masterminds’ release postponed indefinitely

Posted on August 11, 2015 with 3 Comments

Relativity Media has attempted to maintain an appearance of normalcy following its bankruptcy, claiming that it would stick with an early October release date for heist comedy Masterminds. But reassurances from Ryan Kavanaugh’s company that the film is coming out as planned have been scratched, with the Kristen Wiig-Zach Galifianakis comedy now postponed indefinitely. Variety learned about the postponement from international distributors, who complained that they were unable to release the film until it comes out in the U.S. and they now have no idea when, or if, that will happen.

Distributors learned of the delay Friday from Relativity international president Camela Galano. The company did not acknowledge the move until confronted with an email Galano sent more than two dozen foreign film operators. “Relativity Studios has moved Masterminds from its scheduled October 9th release date,” the company then confirmed in a statement, “and we expect to announce a new 2015 release date shortly.”

Bill Murray will appear in ‘Ghostbusters’

Posted on August 10, 2015 with 0 Comments

After tons of rumors, Bill Murray, who played Dr. Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, will appear in director Paul Feig’s upcoming installment of the franchise, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Murray has long been resistant to star in a third Ghostbusters. He told David Letterman earlier this year that his hesitancy stems from Ghostbusters II not having been as well-received as the first one. Dan Akroyd, also from the original cast, has already confirmed his appearance in the movie on Twitter.

Feig’s film, which is currently shooting, stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth and many more. It hits theaters on July 15, 2016.

One of the most anticipated films from this year’s Sundance Film Festival, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, is finally available in theaters! The film tells the story of Minnie, a teen artist living in 1970s San Francisco who enters into an affair with her mother’s boyfriend. Diary has received rave reviews all-around, and currently has a fantastic 94% score on RottenTomatoes.com. The film can be seen in select theaters this weekend, and is expanding to more cinemas in the coming weeks.

To celebrate the release, I have added a TV spot and two clips from the film. Click on the previews below to see them all in our video archive.
