Miles, Elizabeth Banks, Marisa Ryan, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Michael Ian Black, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Jon Benjamin, Nina Hellman, David Wain — with some fantastic new additions such as Josh Charles, Paul Scheer, Jordan Peele, Abby Elliott, Lake Bell, Chris Pine, Randall Park, Michaela Watkins, Jason Schwartzman, and Kristen Wiig, among many others. The full season with all eight episodes can be viewed on Netflix starting today!

The Martian

‘The Martian’ to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival

Posted on July 28, 2015 with 0 Comments

Great news! Ridley Scott’s The Martian has been announced to have its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. The film – starring an unbelievable cast featuring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Michael Pena, Sean Bean, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, Aksel Hennie, Chiwetel Ejiofor and many more – tells the story of Astronaut Mark Watney, who is presumed dead after a fierce storm during a manned mission to Mars, and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

Fingers crossed for Kristen Wiig to attend the screening, and make this her fourth year in a row (and seventh in total!) to attend the film festival. More on this when available.

Welcome to the new version of KristenWiig.org!

After working on the new layout (and some that never came to be) behind the scenes for some time now, I decided to finally launch it to celebrate the fact that we have over 10,000 followers on our Twitter! So thank you everyone for following, it means a lot. The header, still using that gorgeous picture of Ms. Wiig from her Violet Grey photoshoot, will change to promote whatever project is coming up (next is Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, released on Netflix on July 31).

I still have some tweaking to do, as well as updating many pages with new information and content, but I wanted to share the new look with you as soon as I could! The photo gallery, video archive and press library will be updated to match the new layout too. Keep checking back for that. Please drop a comment with your opinion on the new version before you leave. Thank you!

New UK poster for ‘Masterminds’

Posted on July 24, 2015 with 0 Comments

A new poster for Relativity’s Masterminds has been released. The image has the four main characters holding signs in prison. Masterminds tells the true story about a night guard at an armored car company in the Southern U.S. who organized one of the biggest bank heists in American history. The film was directed by Jared Hess and stars Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis. It’s set for a theatrical release on October 9, both in The UK and USA. The theatrical release of the much-anticipated Sundance Film Festival-movie The Diary of a Teenage Girl is drawing close. It’s opening in the US on August 7, and Entertainment Weekly just posted a first clip on their website. The video has Kristen Wiig’s character Charlotte giving some not-so-motherly advice to her daughter, Minnie, played by Bel Powley. Be sure to watch the clip below.

‘Wet Hot American Summer’ first trailer

The first full-length trailer for the Netflix-series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp has been released. Kristen Wiig is featured in a brief scene (which means that she’ll just have a small role in the show, I assume) as her character Courtney. Nevertheless, I have added a high-definition version of the trailer to our video archive, and a few screen captures to our photo gallery. All the episodes of Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp will be available starting July 31.

‘The Diary of a Teenage Girl’ media update

An international trailer for The Diary of a Teenage Girl has been released, and along with it HD screen captures from it, a couple of new production stills and a poster. Kristen Wiig stars as Charlotte in the movie about Minnie, a teen artist living in 1970s San Francisco who enters into an affair with her mother’s boyfriend. Directed by Marielle Heller from a best-selling novel, The Diary of a Teenage Girl also stars Bel Powley, Alexander Skarsgård and Christopher Meloni. The film received rave reviews all-around when it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It’s set for a release on August 7.
